This Privacy Policy explains how The Contrast (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit this website, contact us, or engage our software and training services. We keep our data handling deliberately small: we collect what we need to reply to you and to run our business, and nothing more. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we are
The Contrast is a software development and training company based in Navi Mumbai, India, working with founders and teams in the United States, the United Kingdom and India. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, The Contrast is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can reach us at info@thecontrast.in or Office No 107, Citi Enclave, Sector 2A, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai - 400709.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you submit a form — the enquiry / lead form, a contact request, or a course enquiry — we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, and anything you tell us about your project (purpose, project type, stage, timeline, budget band and your brief).
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and analytics record limited technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and timestamps — to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use only what is needed to run the site and, where enabled, privacy-respecting product analytics. See Cookies below.
We do not knowingly ask for special-category data (such as health, race or political views). Please don’t include such details in a free-text brief.
How we use your information, and our legal bases
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the information, quote or service you requested — (legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries);
- deliver and manage an engagement you enter into with us — (performance of a contract);
- operate, secure and improve our website and services — (legitimate interests);
- send you service-related messages, and — only where you have opted in — occasional updates you can unsubscribe from at any time — (consent);
- comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations — (legal obligation).
How we share information
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers (processors) who help us operate — for example hosting, email, analytics, messaging (such as WhatsApp) and form/lead handling. They may process data only on our instructions and under contract.
- Professional advisers and authorities where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- A successor entity in the event of a reorganisation, merger or sale, subject to this policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
International data transfers
We operate from India and serve clients in the US, UK and elsewhere, so your information may be processed in India and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses — to protect it. You can request details of these safeguards using the contact below.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of our dealings, and engagement data for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by tax and contractual obligations. After that we delete or anonymise it. You may ask us to delete your data sooner (see your rights).
Cookies
We aim to keep cookie use minimal. Essential cookies make the site work. Where we use product analytics, it is configured to respect privacy, and — where required — we ask for your consent before any non-essential tracking. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the UK or EEA, these rights arise under the UK GDPR / GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — which we do not do.
To exercise any right, email info@thecontrast.in. We will respond within the time required by law. UK/EEA users also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep the data we hold safe and the surface small.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
